3 Beautiful Summer Fragrances

I am weirdly proud to admit that I own more than 40 perfumes. My collection started off small and blossomed very quickly when I realised the effect that choosing a scent could have on my mood, my memories and even my confidence levels, to me there is no greater joy than when my fragrance choice matches how I’m feeling because I know that I'll be able to wear the perfume in the future and remember the amazing day I had. Here are 3 of my favourites for the summertime.

Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede

Peony and Blush Suede by Jo Malone feels like one of the most ‘grown-up’ fragrances in my collection, in part because the price tag leans toward the premium end of the scale but also because it’s so sophisticated, the type of scent that I imagine ladies might wear to a fancy brunch. Containing Peony, the official flower of spring/summer (well, in my mind anyway) this perfume was practically made to be worn at this time of year. It’s the most unique fragrance, the notes of red apple give it a freshness when first applied, but throughout the day the blush suede kicks in and it settles to be a very gentle, almost powdery floral. If you’re looking to try your first Jo Malone scent then I recommend checking out this one, it’s universally likeable and will always attract compliments.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Love

I’ve already written about this perfume on my blog once before but it is just too perfect a summertime scent not to include in this list! Daisy Love by Marc Jacobs* reminds me of a picnic in an English meadow. It features top notes of Cloudberries - could the name be more delicious sounding?! And heart notes of Daisy tree petals which come together to make a gloriously sweet floral scent. This one is perfect for daytime wear with good lasting power, it’s never overpowering. The bottle itself is an ode to the summer with an elegant single white flower on the lid.

Dior Miss Dior

If Daisy Love evokes feelings of a picnic in an English meadow then Miss Dior takes me to the balcony of a chic Parisian hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Containing notes of Centifolia Rose and Lily of the Valley this is a floral fragrance, but the top notes of Blood Orange and Mandarin make it equally fruity. It’s a fun, lively and deeply feminine scent, a single spritz makes me want to put on a floaty gown and twirl around the house. I couldn’t write about Miss Dior and not mention the bottle, the gorgeous silver bow lid makes it the showstopper of any collection.

Those are three of my top choices for summer fragrances, what are yours?
