New Year Beauty Edit With Fragrance Direct*

Sunday 19 January 2020

*Sponsored post in collaboration with Fragrance Direct*

New Year, new me, new blog post! I took a break from posting in December but I'm back with some new beauty favourites to tell you about, all of which are available on Fragrance Direct for really amazing prices. This year I want my beauty products to make me look fresh, energised and youthful because I haven't exactly been looking my most vibrant after the Christmas indulgence. With that in mind, here's my new year beauty edit.

Clarins Cleansing Milk

Good makeup starts with good skincare, which is why I've turned to one of my most trusted brands to help to get my skin back to it's old glowy self. The Clarins Cleansing Milk cleanser is light and gentle but does an amazing job of removing makeup. It's apparently packed full of "Alpine Herbs" I'm not quite sure what they are supposed to do but my skin does look a little brighter and I'm well on the way to recovering my healthy glow again. If you have very sensitive skin (like me) then you really can't go wrong with Clarins products, they're a brand that I can choose almost any product from and know that it won't break me out.

Chloe Love Story Eau de Toilette

Chloe Love Story Eau de Toilette is my kind of perfume, it’s floral and feminine but also smells so fresh and clean, the kind of fragrance that you can wear every day to any event and never feel under or overdressed. It contains orange blossom and Prunus flower which give it the signature Love Story scent, but it’s less gentle than the original, still romantic and dreamy but with a bit of an edge. If you shy away from fragrances that are too sweet or girly then I think you will love this one!

I’ve noticed that Love Story is one of those fragrances that seems to change once it touches your skin, I find that the scent seems warmer somehow when I’m wearing it rather than spritzing it onto clothing, which I actually really like. The bottle is absolutely beautiful, classic Chloe in style, it would look lovely on any shelf or vanity table.

Guerlain KissKiss Roselip Tinted Lip Balm

The festive season has ended and I have said goodbye to red lipstick for another 10 months, in its place I've chosen the lightly pigmented, highly moisturising Guerlain KissKiss Balm in the shade Pink Me Up. My lips are in desperate need of some TLC thanks to matte lipstick formulas and the cold weather, this pretty pink balm feels like a treat! Guerlain is a premium brand so their products can be a little pricey, this lip balm is one of their more affordable options so it's a great way of discovering the brand if you haven't tried their products before, plus the packaging is stunning, I feel like I'm carrying around an expensive luxury lipstick rather than a lip balm.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette has been on my wish list forever so I'm super happy to have finally added it to my collection. Urban Decay are known for creating high quality eye shadow palettes that apply like a dream and are well pigmented, the Naked 3 palette is no exception. The shades are a mix of pretty pinks and rose-hued nudes with the addition of one nearly black shade which is handy for creating a wider range of looks. If you love pink as much as I do then I think this will be your perfect palette.

Philosophy Amazing Grace Shower Gel

Philosophy is one of those brands that I have seen featured in other bloggers photos and have always really wanted to try but somehow I never got round to picking up their products, thanks to Fragrance Direct the time has come! I was initially drawn to the Amazing Grace shower gel because of the pretty packaging and adorable name, it sounds so beautiful and dainty to me. I personally like to use this only as a shower gel, my general experience with multi-use products is that they never work particularly well as shampoo because my hair is so fussy and needs a carefully balanced routine, it might not be the case for this particular product but not going take the risk to find out. However, as a shower gel this one is lovely! It is moisturising but not too heavy feeling and helps my skin to feel soft to the touch. It smells delicately perfumed, not too floral or sweet, the perfect base for layering fragrances on to, plus it looks so pretty on the side of my bath.

So those are my new year beauty picks. Everything I listed here is currently discounted on the Fragrance Direct website so have a browse and let me know if you nab any bargains! What will you be picking up in your next beauty haul?
