If you're a long-time reader of my blog then you may have noticed that I am a big fan of gifting perfumes, so I'm over the moon to be collaborating with Fragrance Direct on this Mother's Day post.
This year's campaign encourages giving fragrances rather than flowers, which I'm all for, as however beautiful flowers are, they will die after a few days. When you gift a perfume, you are giving your loved one a scent which will accompany their future memories, and if you put the effort into finding the perfect fragrance it can be such a personal gift. Hugo Boss the Scent For Her is the most delicate, feminine fragrance I own. It's sweet but not at all sugary, floral but not overpoweringly so and the honeyed peach and orange blossom also add a fruitiness. The floral notes make this one perfectly suited to springtime, for me it evokes memories of picnics under the warm sunshine and afternoon tea on bright, sunny Sunday mornings. This is a scent for sophisticated women, and I know my mum will love it.
The bottle design is simple but chic, and the rectangular gold lid looks amazing when it catches the light, making it stand out amongst my collection. I don't tend to talk about perfume boxes very often, but this one is so stunning, blush pink with gold embossing, which makes it perfect for gifting.
Chloe Signature EDP*
Chloe fragrances should be a staple in every woman's collection because they are so classic and elegant. Chloe Signature is iconic, still beautifully feminine but without the dreamy subtleness of Boss the Scent. Containing peony and freesia, Signature is a floral scent, but it also has a muskiness to it, which transforms it into a much bolder fragrance.
The bottle is, of course, a show stopper, with the signature Chloe bow tied around the oval shaped lid. The ribbing on the glass is also classic Chloe style, instantly recognisable on the dressing table.
